The Certificate was awarded to the Archdiocese Ljubljana, Hubert Kosler and Cvetka & Jurij Rudež. Certificate trustee in Slovenia is Farm Land and Forest Fund of the Republic of Slovenia, who manages state forests.
The Certificate was received on behalf of the Archdiocese Ljubljana by Mr. Janez Celar, a member of the archbiscopal management administration, and Marko Matjašič, M.S., deputy director of GG Bled.
This is an important award for GG Bled that manages the Gorenjska area forests owned by the Archdiocese Ljubljana.
Management of state forests was FSC certified back on 27 March 2007. We had positive experience with the certificate and we have therefore decided together with our owner to certify the management of forests owned by the Archdiocese Ljubljana as well.
Forest management was on an appropriate level even before we received the Certificate. Nevertheless, before obtaining the Certificate we had to improve a few norms required by the FSC standard.
FSC certification scheme compliant forest management in international business environment means that we manage the forests in compliance with the most demanding environmental, social and economic standards.
The FSC Certificate not only brings us international reputation in business environment but opens a door to some dealers of wood assortments who only purchase certified raw materials.
